Hey Youth,

Times are really hard right now and the job market is very, very slim. To tell you the truth, I don't know what I would do if I lost my job right now. I'm sure I would have to seriously consider moving out of this town and probably out of state as well. So believe me, I can certainly understand your frustration. Not only have I been there a few times in my life, but I see it all around me now where I live. In my town, if you have a steady job, you are definately one of the fortunate few. And it is, I guess, natural to be angry with God, especially when things look so grim.

But I've got to ask you, are you seriously going to be kicked out on the street if you can't find a job within 30 days? That's pretty rough, considering the fact that you have been trying so hard to find one. Dosen't your mom see that you are trying? Honestly, I wish I could help you in some way, but I have no better advice than the advice others have given you. I guess all I can say is, like I said before, maybe you can reconsider joining the military. Perhaps your mom would be less likely to kick you out if you were waiting to go to basic training, even if it is a 6 month wait. I know my dad didn't mind me living with him while I waited to go to basic. And believe me, we really didn't get along very well.

If worse comes to worse and you do find yourself out of the house, maybe you can go to your church and talk to the pastor about your situation. In fact, maybe that would be a good idea to do even before you get kicked out. Another excellent organization is the Salvation Army.

I didn't mean to sound so harsh, by the way. Believe me, I know only too well that times are very, very hard. They say we are coming out of the recession, but I don't see it. The jobless rate keeps climbing form everything I've heard. I work in a filthy, nasty shop and my job is hard and borring and I hate it more often than not, but I know I am blessed to have it. Keep trying and don't give up, Youth. And if it's too hard to believe that God really is on your side and really is going to help you, than I will believe for you, and I'm sure He will completely understand. Because although you can't see it now, He really does love you and care about you, AND He completely understands how you feel.

Chris
