Mentoring a young person is indeed worth it. It can be one of the most rewarding experiences in both your lives. The mentoring generally will last thru his teen years, but the relationship can last a lifetime, depending on the boy. My only suggestion is to make sure you don't give anyone any reason to suspect you of being a boylover. Don't confide in anyone that you may have sexual attractions to boys. Beause even if you never do anything inappropriate, you'll never be trusted.
