I'm with Dwain on this one. If I didn't have a yf in my life I'd go looking for one.

Fortunately I have kids so there's always kids around in my life.... and I'm a kid magnet. If I go somewhere and there are kids there... before long I've got them around me and interacting... which I just love.

I encourage you to build up your adult relationships first... get well connected and well supported in the adult world so you will be a stable adult for your YF.

Secondly, try and build relationship with both your yf and his parents. Since the child will be totally dependant on his rents the relationship will be far more secure if you are a family friend and not just a friend of the kid. That way if they move away... you have a connection that will be easier to maintain.
