you're absolutely right about lyrics. I used to belong to another board (very important to me) - long gone - where poetry was rife, but when song lyrics came up . . . always left trying to figure out how it would have been in song . . . . I put some of my own poems up there. was a special time. only write poetry at special times because not a poet.
poetry is always about special times though I think. to do with holiness.
my problem with poetry is the same as my present problem with music: the clash with liturgy (the psalms mostly) can get strangely noisy.
is your poetry about a special time only or are you more a 'professional'?
