I think gaaky; What you said is the bottom-line. If we view such of our feelings as sinful, and as a temptation, then we need to not dewell or give
in to them.

Paul said of himself at Rom.7:18-25 ="I delight in the law of God, but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work in my members."

This is deep stuff, but I think we get the point.
