Being happy isn't ALL that matters. God wants us to be happy, but not to the exclusion of all else. He wannts us to live for Him, not for ourselves alone. At 16, you're old enough to make up your own mind about what you want. But as a Christian, you need to consider what is Biblical and what God wants. Is your relationship Biblical? If Jesus came in the flesh today, would you feel comfortable taking your adult lover to see Him and asking Him to bless your union? You need to ask yourself these questions and give yourself honest answers.

Happiness is a transient emotion. It comes and goes. Being in God's will is the best way to assure that you will be happy as much as possible in this world.
