Thanks, Dakota, I was off on a business trip and couldn't be here to rant as usual on this topic. I'm feeling a bit low-energy on it today anyways, but I do think it's right to point out that whatever the "due penalty" is, it was received after the perversion. The perversion itself isn't the penalty. (Or at least, you'd have to be an extremely thorough believer in predestination to think that).

Just in case my viewpoint is new to Aionios, I think that the perversion was surrogacy (substitution of the type of partner your most loving sexual orientation is oriented to with a less favoured one that you are merely lustfully exploiting, like farm boys doing a sheep because they can't have girls, or Moroccan 18 yo's doing the 11 yo softie little brother of Ahmed just because they are horny and won't have a chance to touch a girl until they're married.) Whatever the perversion was, when you read the passage ("...were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty...") we're clearly not talking about something that was loving and beneficent, so to anyone who knows gay partner relationships, that pretty much excludes them from consideration here.
