I hope you understand what we are getting at about working at your friendships with others your own age. In my experience we can to some extent choose the importance that boys have in our life. This is a function of how much effort we put into spending time with them and how much we think about them as against the effort we put in with our peers. Once it becomes our habit to focus on boys rather than our peers, like any habit, it becomes hard to break, though it can be done.
