very few churches choose to get involved in the situations you listed or plenty of other good issues for Christians to be a forefront in. They just like to constantly only shout about homosexuality and abortion and that is it.

They chose a profession that they knew might put them in a situation of killing innocent people.

Their pay might not be great but they have other benefits like the GI Bill and free health insurance.
