I've found that with most problems, trying to pound them into submission by the power of my will alone doesn't work for long...if at all. I've tried to quit drinking by using willpower and it never worked. I've tried to change my sexual attraction by willpower and that didn't work, either...gee, I wonder why? I think that with spiritual battles, it is best to use God power; that is, let go and let God deal with it. Or let Him show you what you need to do as the case may be. I finally got sober through A.A. and let God deal with my sexual attraction. He hasn't changed that part of me but He HAS shown me how to accept who and what I am and how to live a fine life in spite of it all. Or perhaps I live a fine life because of it all. It all has a lot to do with acceptance.
