When we focus on the bad stuff that's all we see and it blinds us from seeing all the good stuff we also have, I agree, which is why I feel so unappreciative of Gods work sometimes, if only he could take away a bit more of the bad stuff just enough so I could continually praise him and be a lot more appreciative all the good things his given me but I'm too lost in all the sadness and overpowered by the bad.


As you said I too believe "that our actions have their own consequences" and I think the majority will find that those consequences follow in the after life but for me it seems like God has chosen to enforce those consequences here and now, which is good in someway I guess as I may have less to answer for after but for now it doesn't make it any easier.
