I don't dismiss what your saying and yes so many marriages do fail and so many fairytale relationships come to an end but if people can't appreciate the beauty of being in a loving relationship then that is flaw of their own character not a flaw in the system. Because I know for a fact had I suddenly woken up as a straight guy and been granted the person of my dreams I would cherish that moment with the same intensity as the day I met them and make every effort to to be a understanding, compassionate, caring partner for the rest of my life because I recognise the satisfaction and beauty in such a relationship.
The reason why relationships lose luster is because a lot of those people have not been love-starved and gone through the difficulties we have, they have been served love on a silver platter since their puberty, so they become easily accustomed and desensitised to relationships and they eventually stop appreciating the beauty of the situation they are in and start finding fault in the smaller things, its a common flaw and mind set in humanity that not all of us posses. As you admitted yourself that BL's can in fact find contentment with lesser relationships then imagine what you could do with a Hollywood romance, I can bet we would have succeeded in the exact same relationships where many have failed. So one can only dream. |
