You know, come to think of it, I have never seen or heard any hard evidence that the stereotype actually exists, either. I really had to sit and think about this because I have heard and read plenty of stories of boys being molested by men, and I'm sure some of them were, but were they actually groomed by these men the way most people think? Who knows? Society believes what it wants to believe in these cases, and everything the BL says can (and will) easily be turned against him. No one really wants to believe the BL who says his contact with the boy was always innocent, and that the sexual encounter was either consensual or a completely unplanned event. Those things do happen (probably a lot), but no one wants to believe that.
