I think you make a very valid point here BS. I was saying in my post about AS that I think there is a spectrum, or a continuum: a line between 'normal' and aspergers which we are all on and I am fairly sure this applies to being BL as well.
Society loves categorising far far too much and we would do well to bear that in mind here on the forum [as elsewhere]. I have noticed this tendency also with the yahoo group to which I belong regarding my chronic illness: there are definitely people in that group who begin to define their lives by their illness instead of seeing the group as a stepping-stone away from it. I think this relates strongly to our spiritual lives also, because, for me, the overwhelmingly crucial element in all of this is our need to belong. The danger is always that we settle for belonging anywhere to anything rather than pursuing the truth - wherever it may lead. Ultimately, of course, we belong only to God - but the impossibility of understanding the full implications of what that ultimately means is itself a huge challenge.
