It sounds like you love your church family very much and this whole thing is really hurting you deeply. I don't blame you, if that happened to me I would feel hurt, confused and would probably avoid going to church for awhile, too. It is an awkward situation to be sure, for them and for you. I guess the best advice I can give is that you begin by realizing that just as those people are children of God, so are you. And that we are all equal in His eyes and in his heart. He dearly loves us all equally, regardless of our sexuality issues or any issues in our lives. Then, with that firmly planted in your heart, go back to your church and hold your head up and try to be open to your church family as much as you can. Don't be afraid to talk to them or anything, even if they are avoiding you. It will take some courage but I think eventually they will come around and open up to you as well. If they don't or if they decide to take a negative posture towards you, then maybe you should look for a new church. But first give them a chance to be the family for you that God wants them to be.
