This is a little out of context for this forum, except for the fact that I have often done movie revues in here, mostly about movies that have boys in them or in some way relate to us either as Christians or BL's. However, after this weekend I am dismayed because I am even more convinced that movies are steadily going down-hill. I went to see "The Expendables", a movie directed by Sylvester Stallone and starring Stallone plus a large group of other action movie stars like Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, and others. I had been seeing the previews on t.v. for a long time and it looked like it would be a great movie. Boy was I disapointed. Oh, it was pretty good...a big, huge, action-packed shootem' up movie for sure. But what struck me is that it is so typical of the kind of thing that has been coming out of Hollywood lately...lots of action and special effects but so little in story and plot. Of course the acting was fair to good because of all the experienced actors, but the attempt at a story is sketchy and almost amateurish. Not exactly what I expected from Stallone.

But where oh where are the good movies? Are they ever going to come back or are we all doomed to having to watch this kind of stuff from now on? I hope not.
