Yes but our physical and emotional parts are so very closely tied to one another. I wouldn't argue with the advice you gave, it is sound advice, but I fear it is a lot more complicated than what you have told him. It does help to try to seperate the physical and the emotional, but I think it also helps to try to work on acceptance of one's lot in life. I have found that when I can see someone who has it a lot worse than I do, it helps me to be grateful for the good things that I do have in life. Yes, we have a hard life to live, no one could ever deny that, but when I see someone with say, a really bad physical handicap or something, than I can gain some acceptance of my own circumstances.
