Most of the lyrical content of Eminem's songs (Don't know anything about the former so I'll refrain from judging him) leaves to be desired, at least in my eyes.
But I believe Blackstone isn't saying he approves what they're saying and recommends it to boys (quite the opposite, in fact, from the impression I get), but rather that the video can be inspirational. I'd be tempted to agree with him as well, on that point. It's not the music I listen to either, but I also have a yf between those ages, and Eminem is his favorite type of music. He's the one that brought that type of music into my life, not the other way around. I suppose at his age it's better not to hear a lot of what Eminem says, but times have changed, and kids are no longer even close to what they were when I was his age (not all that long ago). Then again, it's not really in my place to judge, either. I'm his friend and buddy. If I suggested something I'm sure he'd comply, but his music tastes still lie between him and his parents. |
