I'm not a huge fan of his music, although I do have a lot of respect for him as a musician. He isn't just another cute kid trying to be a hip pop and/or rap artist, although it does seem that way right now. From what I have seen about him, he is quite a musician. I know he plays both guitar and drums quite well. I sincerely hope that his family looks out for him and keeps steering him in a good direction. I guess it is inevitable that unsavory people will be attracted to him, and at his age he might think it is cool to try to be like them. But if he is truly a Christian, and I hope that he really is...he seems like he is from all the movie promos and the little bit I have read about him. But if he is a Christian, then hopefully he will have the wisdom to see through all the crap that the media world is offering him. I've seen how the world has taken down quite a few young artists, for example Kenny Wayne Shepherd (he is doing fine now but for a while he was really hurting with drugs and alcohol), and I hope this young man doesn't have to go down that path. Of course we can certainly pray for him.

I can't wait to see his movie. From all the previews it looks like it could be really good. I especially like the small clip with him talking to the little girl in a wheel chair in a hospital. It looks like he has a really good heart. And if he IS gay, then ok...I certainly wish the best for him. This world and especially the church can be hard on gays, especially young teen age kids who are gay.
