Tartaros was a place of eternal punishment in Greek mythology, and the Greek word does make it into the NT in 2 Peter 2:4 as the place for the fallen angels. Given that we are told that that place is also the place of eternal punishment for those who reject God (Mt 25:41), this seems to offer SOME evidence of the nature of Hell...
