I'm not quite sure I agree with the statement that we are worthy only of spiritual death. I saw a question posted in another Christian forum which I think has some bearing on this thread. I can't remember the exact wording but here goes.
A two month old child dies and goes to judgement. Since that child cannot through any fault of it's own have committed a sin, one would expect it to enter heaven. At the same time a sixty year old man dies who's been up to goodness knows what during his life, and is a sinner. He to is judged accordingly.
Can we really conceive, that God would create a system where premature death from this world, would be a distinct advantage for your lot in the next.
