Live the Eternal Now

We are souls already. Why wait for later? We can make the choice today. Live forever now. And keep on living right into eternity and beyond.

The physical body is full of sensation. But brief. The spiritual self is also full of sensation. But eternal.

It's difficult for us to see beyond the flesh. The body feels good when it is stimulated, and we often take this stimulation into extremes -- looking for the next best high.

The soul, in comparison, seems boring. We see the soul in terms of having to resist the flesh and giving up our pursuit of bodily satisfactions.

Perhaps we need to take time to look beyond the flesh. God gives us a choice between life and death. Life is in the spirit through death of the flesh.

What kind of life is that? Sounds boring. But I think that depends upon how you look at Life. The Bible tells us how. We're to look beyond ourselves, looking to Jesus and glorifying God by the things we do. To be in the world, but not of the world. See John 17.

Alternative ways of facing judgment are bound to be more painful. Deuteronomy 29 & 30 shows us what Judgment Day will be like. But for those of us in Christ, Judgment Day will be a new beginning. How wonderful it would be to continue living as we were living -- living the Eternal Now right now and right on into eternity. Forever!

Do any of us seriously think that it would be possible to satisfy ourselves through eternity with a life based on the pursuit of bodily satisfactions? We already have a difficult time keeping our life's stimulations high enough to make us happy, if we're even truly happy at all.

If we live a hundred years, where will our stimulation end? To what extreme will we take it? If we live a thousand years, how will we feel in an over-stimulated body that can achieve nothing better?

We have the chance today to break free of these stimulation limitations and reach the Highest of highs, to get high on the Most High! Yeah.

Read the Bible, pray constantly, get intimate with the Lord. Listen to what He has to say. Live a life of holiness -- better than the rest. Don't wimp out on life's challenges -- do your best to pass the test.

I see a lot of anger and vulgarity in this world. Why are these people so afraid? Because they can't see past the weakness of their own flesh. They do not have the peace of an eternal life. So each one does what they think is best for their own survival -- to act tough, rough, and rude.

Many people don't believe their lives are important to anyone else but themselves. They live this way. They try to make the world revolve around themselves. At the same time, they want to believe that others think they are important. They try to get people to like them. They look for people to love them. But their real quest is avoidance -- avoidance of pain, starvation, boredom, aging, death.

It satisfies us to obtain some level of stimulation. It makes us feel greater when we can lessen the degree of pain we feel. Sex, food, fashion, fame -- these things make our flesh feel good. But, take them to an extreme and we die. The flesh wastes away.

God offers us something better. Life-based positivity with no fear of negativity. No fear of death, no fear of sin. To be a child of God, born-again!

What would you do as a soul without a body? How would you live? What would you do with your time knowing that eternity starts today?

Without the need to feed the flesh... What would you do? How would you live?

The spiritual life has much to offer. Let the Holy Spirit be your guide. Read the Bible and learn. Pray and be intimate with the Lord. With a friend such as Jesus, how can you fail? Living a life of holiness will bring you new realities. Like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season (Psalm 1), spiritual gifts will soon follow. And we shall do greater things than these (John 14:12).

Live the Eternal Now.
