Sexuality as affliction, sin, or sickness

A couple years ago, I decided I was tired of being tormented for years by thinking my feelings for boys were sick, evil, sinful, or an affliction. I no longer believe they are automatically sinful just because they are for boys instead of for women. I believe now that they are part of natural variation in people's sexuality. Considering that God created people varying in almost every physical, intellectual, and personality characteristic imaginable, it seems strange to expect that people wouldn't vary in their sexuality, too. Blaming people's sexuality on their unfaithfulness is just as spiritually abusive as blaming a person's suffering or sickness on their lack of faith.

What can be sinful is the way one expresses one's sexuality, just like it is sinful to be violent as a way of expressing one's personality.

I am wary of the idea that sexual thoughts (except for those for one's husband or wife) are evil. This is a very unhealthy belief and leads to unnecessary sorrow and ineffectiveness in living and serving God. Sexuality is part of the way God created humans.
