Yes, being a BL makes us less prone to the self-deception that we don't need God, yet if God took our desires away, many others imperfections would be revealed. With this one issue aside, do we love the Lord our God with all our heart and soul AND do we love one another as written in the Bible? The lifelong desire that is spoken of here is only one way in which we fall short in the eyes of God. God has much to teach us. A reformed alcoholic will suddenly find other ways in which his life is not right, or overtime, alcohol will come back and rule the day. Similarly, these desires that we have will always be a part of us, and if it was miraculously removed, other desires and sins would come to the forefront. It is overwhelming to be perfect in God's eyes. I think everyone has "addictions" which can only be "healed" by relying on God's grace. Thanks Forgiven for reminding me I'm forgiven. Shine on despite our imperfections, for God so loved the world........Definitely, we need not have chains around our hearts, but instead, the freedom to live and rise up despite our shortcomings.
