I was talking with a few other Christians at the Christian College I go to. THere was a huge uproar because of the idea that Homosexuality is something you are born with. And a lot of hateful and outraged things were said because of a teacher talking about this. I stand up for "homosexuals" the best way I can. It hurts me because I struggle with it. People bashing homosexuals... Because when they do, they are bashing me. And I talk with them with the Love of Christ. They think of me as a hetrosexual. So I talk to them like this, "There is this person who is very dear to me (in reality I'm talking about myself.) and he struggles with homosexuality. He's a Christian. Imagine how he feels! He knows he is attracted to the same sex. Imagine how he feels because what he knows as natures is "condemned wrong." Can you tell me that your hate and spite will help him come closer to Christ in any way?" Most people I talk with have a renewed idea of what is going on. I do believe it is wrong... but not because someone told me. It wasn't till two or three months after my youth leader told me that GOd thought it was wrong till I decided for myself that it was. You see, I felt in my heart that it was wrong. She had, in all honesty, told me these things only once. It was I, through bible reading and prayer, who decided that I will not persue a homosexual lifestyle. You can disagree with me. That is more than fine... All I ask is don't be mean to me when you do so. I respect your opinion. Respecting someone does not mean agreeing with them. God Bless you. Huck Finn |
