Literally five seconds before I read this news, I finished writing an article I hoped to submit to Paraklesis. The final words of the article? "Somehow, a way to break the cycle [of violence against children and sex offenders] must be found. . . . It may be that, in the years to come, victims of vigilante violence will echo the words of the Orthodox Church's Easter liturgy – 'trampling down death by death' – and speak of how even the deaths of sex offenders and suspected sex offenders became a sacrifice that was not wasted."
