Indeed lonliness is the thing we all experience to the core. Everyone experiences it even if one is currently satisfied in a relationship. In time, one will lose the partner (from lack of communication) or one will lose that special person because of phyiscal death. In the end, we remain as we came into this world, on our own. Indeed, we had parents and others take care of us and bring us security; however, really, we were alone. Every person must deal with this "walk in the wilderness." Do we go insane or feed ourselves with other things - watching excessive TV, drinking, "sexing," working excessive hours, ect. - or do we hold true and look to God to help bring us out of the darkness and into the light? Very few choose the latter, because it takes patience and trust. It takes tears and endurance. It takes what accumulates to love. I am guilty of finding comfort in many things. These comforts are unfortunately temporary. We believe in them because they work for a time. But in the end, we see that nothing relieves the lonliness, except God. I believe there are only two things that are permanent:

1) The love we have with others - love, not sex is permanent. Hearts that are engraved with the names of another are forever connected.

2) God is permanent. We may sometimes feel He is not there, but in the end, we see that He is.

Unfortunately, I forget, but your message regarding lonliness reminds me of the "walks" I have taken in the "darkness," and I am coming to believe there are only two things that truly matter. Best wishes with this issue of lonliness and with your walk.
