I've never heard it before; thanks. But seriously; the issue of why some gay men react negatively to teenlovers is that it raises questions about their own sexuality, and whether THEY are safe around boys. Historically their alleged appreciation for minors was always an allegation against the 'gay' community, and now that they have achieved respectability in most circles, they react badly when this issue reemerges. Certainly I ran into this when a gay teacher friend in my church whom I'd come out as a BL was 'insulted' when I asked about whether he was attracted to any of the teenage schoolboys he taught. Of course there is a double standard here - most straight men will admit to being attracted to girls over 16, and even a little below.... but for gay men it is a little more problematic!
