God Incarnate… The Incarnate Word…

Jesus received His flesh from Mary… His soul came directly from God through the (Holy) Spirit. The fleshly body that He received from Mary is what made Him fully man… The soul from God is what made Him fully God.

God spoke the "Word" into Mary's womb, and she became pregnant. This is what made Him God incarnate… God in the flesh… And the Incarnate Word.

I, again, must point to the scripture in Luke 1:35. That is where Jesus became man it the flesh. Before that time He was in heaven.

In Genesis, He was the "voice" of the Lord God who walked in the cool of the garden… And He appeared in many other places throughout the Old Testament.

Of course He needed the Holy Spirit to overcome the flesh, and all its lusts… and He had it, because He *was* it, personified… And this is where the confrontation took place. The scripture where He makes reference to being in prison, means exactly that… His soul was imprisoned in flesh, and the only escape was to overcome it, which He did, in order to be released from the same prison that holds us captive. Jesus had the keys to the prison, and that's what he passes on to us, in the form of the Holy Ghost. If our flesh dies, and we don't have the keys, we will die with it.

Mary was blessed in that she was chosen to bare the baby Jesus, but the only thing she provided was the body that He lived in while He was here on the earth.

As for finding it difficult to accept the meaning of John 20, I must again refer to the passage which states that if He didn't go away, the Holy Ghost would not come. It's the only logical way that both of these scriptures can be reconciled.

Another thought occurred to me…

If Jesus had to wait until he was thirty years old to receive the Holy Ghost, what kept Him sinless up until that time?

Love,
