He makes arbitrary rules and tortures you for eternity if you don't obey them or come up with a blood sacrifice? These are all good questions, and I hope you continue to seek out the answers (or at least read the responses). I understand the basis for your arguments regarding why God does certain things, but I'm not sure why you call Him names. Christians may have ticked you off many times in the past, but don't blame Jesus for it. Everything He's ever done has been because He loves you. And I doubt that the rules God created are "arbitrary" as you say -- I think they line up with who God is. For him to be a loving God, He has to make rules in the same way that laws are created for the benefit of society as whole -- even though it means that some people will spend their lives in prison or be sent to the electric chair. God is both merciful and just, but His mercy only goes so far before justice must prevail. It's all for the ultimate good. And don't say He hasn't given you a lot of chances. Tonight is another one -- take a chance on Him. He's knocking and waiting... open the door. ~Splash* |
