Broken relationships

Any relationship between humans can be broken if enough stress is put on it. Frequently that stress comes from one or both of the people involved seeking a greater closeness or affirmation than the other has to offer. It can even lead to violence if one sees who he thinks to be his only source of happiness backing away. Jesus too knew the loneliness that comes from rejection. Yet he knew who he was and that he was loved perfectly by the Father. He calls us to experience union with himself and with the Father. Then we will be better able to share love with each other in our own limited ways. We can be grateful that we are able to be partial reflections of God's love for each of us. ---Ford |
