Yes it is true that most boys are not looking for a sexual partner but a friend who can, like you said, love, care, and guide them. In this case your job is to be that friend and, yes, not advance sexually on them. I believe God has given us this love for boys as a gift and not a curse to be guilt ridden for. God wants us to protect, hold tight, and father these boys. Because of their physical and mental size, they are vulnerable to dangers of the world: abusers, kidnappers...ect, and the worst, molesters. But when you see a fair tanned boy with blonde hair and green eyes playing alone in a playground. And when you walk up to him to say hi. And when you look into his eyes which are squinting up at you through the afternoon sun. You see a longing in those eyes for someone who can be a friend and sexual lover. And you kindly smile at him and turn back toward the street. Of course you couldn't have known that he was sexually molested a year before and it would be another 3 years until he finds that longed for love in someone his own age. And when you look into his eyes 5 years later you still see that longing for a lover, you turn away yet again. You don't know that his best friend and lover has just died and he is going to attempt to kill himself. The next time you see a fair tanned boy alone in a playground longing for someone more than just a friend, think of this because you'll be looking at me. Some boys need more than just friends, don't be so guilty about your feelings. I was looking for someone who could love me, be my sexual partner, and keep me from my worst fear: molesters.
