Smoke and Mirrors

On Monday I begin my first venture int othe art of illusion.

I'm taking an acting course.

I'm hoping to be better prepared than the others there. I have read a few books on the subject. Reading them lets one truely see how much trickery is involved in acting, and I don't just mean special effects or fancy camera work. I'm talking acting.

How much acting someone does depending on how much of them is in the frame, strange positions that look natural on the screen. It's not as if all this is a massive secret, but it sure takes the gloss off some of the finished product, knowing how they made it, and in a way it lets one truely appreciate the industry.

Being "Natural" isn't enough. Nobody on a reality TV show is going to win a Best Actor oscar, because they aren't working the camera, or focusing on how they deliver things.

Anyway, I figure since I have been acting to people in real life for years, that I can probably be pretty adept at this. I know I have a better chance of being killed in a freak blender accident than I do of getting big in the acting world (especially in Ireland) but you never know until you try.

I don't want to be stuck in the rat race in some office job wondering if I could have made it if I tried.

I'll tell you all how it goes :)
