Hi Splash, I have many close friends here at CBLF, praise God, Andy is one of my very best friends and he and I frequently call one another on the phone and talk. This is primarily because my internet access is presently quite limited. Well, the other day we spoke with each other and he had read this post of your's and was so very moved by it he printed it off and read it to me. I want you to know that it has affected me profoundly as well....I wound up with tears in my eyes. This is why it affected me so....I know exactly what you are going through right now because I have gone through it with my young friend, L.! (I must take a quick break in my reply post to tell you this. I am writing this post while using the computer in our public library and, OH MAN, THE most adorable 5 or 6 yr. old boy just walked up to me and said, with great big beautiful blue eyes,"We just got a new puppy...his name is Jasper!" Oh Lord, some days I am SO thankful God has made me the way He did!!! That little boy is walking up to literally everyone in this place telling them the exact same thing. I don't think I have seen anything so utterly cute in a very long time! oh...ok...ahem...) Anyway, as much as I would love to go into a detailed account of my relationship with L., my time is limited on the computer here. Let me just say that one of the things about your post that moved me the most was the striking simularity in the quality of the relationship you have with your young friend and the relationship I have with L.. It was that simularity that choked me up the most I think....that and the fact that God is a strong participant in it, which is also the same with L. and I. I strongly believe that when God is a part of ANY relationship it will be one of superior quality and depth. One that can boast of incredible love and devotion. I see that very clearly in your post, brother, and it trully moves me to tears because L. and I have always had that kind of quality as well. Here is another way I can relate to your post. L. was nine years old when we first became friends, he is 19 now. We have continued to grow closer to one another, even though he too went through a period of time doing the exact same things your friend is doing now. Please notice, brother, I said the word "through". That is because it was more like a period of developement in his life and eventually it DID end.
