I cannot say that I blame your cousin for disaprooving of your friendship with your yf. The fact that she is the daughter of one of her friends must weigh heavily on her conscience. If the woman knew you were a paedophile she would most likely not want you around her child. Alma is in a way betraying her friend by allowing your friendship with the child to continue.

I have been reading the posts of you and your cousin. You seem a sincere man and your cousin seems sincere in her desire to help you. This disagreement between you may cause a rift in your relationship. You are lucky to have someone to confide in and you should try to nurture that relationship. I would advise you to stop seeing your yf.

You may think you are helping the child but it is likely that friendships between paedophiles and children will eventually become inappropriate.
In "the Song of Soloman" it warns, " Catch us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom."
We are the little foxes that spoil the vineyards with our affliction. We destroy all that is pure and innocent.

As for your cousin being a non-believer, maybe you should invite her to come to mass with you one Sunday. The best way to nurture a seed that has been cast among the stones is to place it in fertile soil. Being in a house of God may have a better influence on her than her " weirdo artistic friends " that she usually spends time with.

You have said it is God's plan for you to mentor to children that need you, but maybe His plan is for you to evangelize your cousin. She needs you more than your yf does.

May the Holy Spirit bless and keep you.
