Dear Chris, The similarities between us never cease to amaze me… I never did replace my bass guitar (it was stolen eight years ago) and I gave up playing bass at that time. Bass is not my primary instrument, but rather guitar (I play rhythm). My first guitar (a Fender… coincidence?) was also stolen (surprisingly not by a ‘Christian’, well not that I knew personally anyway) a year prior to my bass being stolen. I don’t mind questions about my musical interests at all – thanks for asking. I appreciate all styles of music (except for rap) but I can’t say that any of the ones you mentioned (namely Blues, Jazz, Gospel and Soul) are in my list of favorites. I’m a die-hard metal fan – in my pre-Christian days that included stuff like Metallica, Slayer, Black Sabbath, etc. These days I am into the Christian metal scene – stuff like Tourniquet, Living Sacrifice, Mortification, Believer etc. As I stated above, I play rhythm guitar. I also write my own songs (both music and lyrics) and integrate a lot of classical into the metal (sorry Metallica, I was doing this years before you released S&M!) I’m currently working on the material for my second album. My first album, a computerized demo not released to anyone but family and friends so far, contains eight songs (90 minutes, very long songs – longest one is about 18 minutes long). God willing, things will come together so that it can be released; it is my dream to be a pastor and minister through my music. I’m so glad that you decided to mention all of your musical background and current involvement with music. God sure is cool the way He has brought us together here on this board.
