Ah, the memories

You know what this exchange reminds me of? My young adult days in the 70s. I was never what you would call a hippy, but me and my friends had a definite "us against them" attitude when it came to "the establishment." We considered any authority figure as "the man", whom we hated. I was convinced that all the "straight" people (not refering to sexual orientation here) hated us simply because they didn't like our music or the way we dressed or acted. They never would look at me as an individual, just as part of a group they didn't understand or like. So I hated them all and didn't trust them. Then somewhere along the line I came to realize that I was doing the same thing that I hated them for; not seeing them as individuals, but lumping them all in a group and assuming they were all the same. I had to laugh at myself.

A.I., I know I'm not going to sway you. Clearly, your mind is already made up. But thanks for the trip down memory lane. Take care.
