It's my feeling that al Qaeda definitely needed to be stopped...

I just disagree with the way it's being handled and, even more fervently, disagree with the attitude of revenge and blood-lust I see in my fellow Americans...

Al Qaeda needed to be stopped, yes...the way a mad dog needs to be stopped...without vindicativeness, without unnecessary passion, but with an attitude of sincere regret that force was necessary...

I think it's a terrible mistake to carry this war any further than it's already gone...

I deeply question the motives of the current U.S. admin in their desire to carry war further afield and launch aggressive actions against nations that have not shown overt hostility toward us...

I'd question the U.S. government less right now, in fact, if I didn't see the way in which the American people are being psychologically manipulated..

If this war were TRULY so justified as they claim, there'd be no need to manipulate the mass mind to aquiesce...

But they're doing plenty of manipulating, which makes me question their REAL motives right down to the core...

I also disagree with the way the prisoners are being treated at Guantanamo Bay..

It's clear the motive behind keeping them in such conditions is purely to punish them...

It's sheer vindictiveness, which is not a Christian virtue...

And this is coming from someone who isn't even a Christian!

The U.S. claims to be spreading peace, justice and democracy throughout the world, when in fact the U.S. is spreading war ever further afield and clearly has no interest in actual "justice" or the current admin. wouldn't keep using flimsy excuses not to grant the prisoners in Cuba their rights under the Geneva Convention...

there I go talking politics again on a religious board!
mea culpa!
love
John
