When Forgiven says that gays want to legitimize homosexuality, they're not trying to preach to the choir. That's why they don't need to tell enlightened folks like you that being gay is OK. They're trying to convince us hateful spiteful bigoted bastards that it's OK. They're trying to make it legal in conservative opinion, law and church.

Thus, the gay community's efforts can be defined as trying to legitimize themselves to the unenlightened.
