It's funny, my father said just the same thing to me last week when he, my boyfriend and I were staying up late drinking together. He's about as strong a fundamentalist as you can get and he was willing to concede that he couldn't know what Jesus would say about gays. But he DID say that he knew for a fact that Jeses would not support bigotry against gays. He was pissed that a relative of mine had cut off contact with me and he and his Baptist minister brother BOTH called up the relative to tell him that Jesus is about love, not judgement. |
