I'm sorry you didn't like Tony's talk. It actually had 2 sides....Tony's and his wife's. If you didn't like what Tony was saying you would hate what Peggy said, lol.

I think you mistake accepting what we are, with thinking being sexually attracted to kids is good and from God. Some may think the empathy we have with boys and the, the ability to relate, as well as the non-sexual caring we have for boys is a gift. I don't know if it is or not. But I don't know of too many Christian pedophiles that consider the sexual attraction as good or a gift.

Have you ever heard the saying "Don't beat your head against the wall, cause all it will accomplish is give you a headache?" The same is true about trying to change one's sexual orientation. While drugs can be a very hard thing to beat (I had a battle with drugs myself years ago), it is not an orientation. While some find drugs impossible to beat, there are still many recovered druggies like yourself. Show me a few recovered pedophiles. Show me a few recovered homosexuals. I don't mean the ones that brought their desires under extreme control to the point they can have a "normal" heterosexual relationship with someone. Even those are rare. Show me the ones that never ever have the tiniest of sexual thought about a kid or their own sex. Show me a few former pedophiles that can see a cute shirtless boy and not get that feeling deep inside them. They are virtually non-existant. Maybe a very few have experience a true miracle on the same level as making a blind man see. Those kinds of miracles can happen, but that's what it would take, a true miracle from God.

I will work on my thought life. I will control my actions. But don't ask me to spend my life trying to get a mountain to move. There are other things I can devote my strength to that I actually have a chance of changing.

For pete's sake, all most of us are trying to do is take something in us that we can't change and that could cause harm, and use it for something good. If you were living in Biblical times, what would you have told Paul he should do about the thorn in his side?
