So Einstein once wrote to explain his personal creed: 'A religious person is devout in the sense that he has no doubt of the significance of those super-personal objects and goals which neither require nor are capable of rational foundation. The whole point of the article was to explore Einstein's religious beliefs - not to claim that he didn't have any. In fact, it appears that he was a very religious man, indeed. So, again, I have to wonder why you feel sorry for him. Is it because he didn't share your precise creed, even though he claimed to have been a man of religious faith? If so, why do you claim to have a corner on absolute truth? |
