1. Pixote - dark, depressing portrayal of life as a Brazilian street kid. The movie was so powerful, that the child actor who played Pixote was murdered by Brazilian police after the movie became a hit (it is believed his murder was a result of his involvement in the movie which criticizes Brazilian authorities; the followup movie, a documentary called 'Who Killed Pixote?' explores this).

2. Pay it Forward - A surprizingly good movie featuring what may be the best current child actor.

3. A.I. - Excellent movie, also featuring HJO, which explores the concept of what makes a person human. Also noteable as being Stanley Kubrik's last film.

4. The Sixth Sense - Another HJO movie. This one is a suspense thriller that is one of my favorite movies of all time.

5. Ezpinaso del Diablo (The Devil's Backbone) - Another suspense thriller, this one takes place in a boy's boarding school in Spain during a period of civil war.

6. Au Revoir Les Enfants - A powerful movie that tells the tale of a young boy living in a boarding school during the Nazi occupation of France, and the friendship he develops with a Jewish boy who is hiding out in the boarding school.

7. E no Naka no Boku no Mura (Village of Dreams) - a lighthearted tale of two 9 year old twins growing up in a village. This one is seen from the boy's perspective which makes for some amuzing scenes (the danger of the woods is the imp that lives there, their mean landlord is not as dangerous as his underwear which can literally rise to attack them, etc.).

8. Jungle2Jungle - The disney version of a foreign film I have not seen. This one is a comedy starring Tim Allen, Martin Short, and Sam Huntington as the scantily clad boy raised among South American natives, trying to adapt to life in the big city.

9. Voor een Verloren Soldaat (For a Lost Soldier) - The tale of a young boy who is seduced by (and falls in love with) an American soldier during World War II.

10. Du er Ikke Alene (You are Not Alone) - The story of the love that develops between a young boy and a teenager.

11. Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan - I dont think any explenation need be given for this movie, as the Tarzan story is very well known. I do not like this movie, and found it extremely boring, however it may deserve a mention if your criteria for selecting movies is the 'eye candy'.

12. War of the Buttons - I havent seen this one yet, but it looks good and features lots of kids on the cover.

13. Kolya - havent seen it yet either, but intend to rent it soon.

12. Happiness - This movie does not have a boy as the main actor, however, watch it and youll see why it may be of interest to bl's.

Thats all I could think of for now...I hope I gave you a few titles you didnt know about, your site certainly helped me compile a list of things to rent, and I really needed it, as I have gotten to the point of wandering around blockbuster looking at the old titles (since Ive seen almost all the new stuff).
