>As I explained, the verse in II Timothy cannot possibly be reffering to the bible we know it, because it simply did not exist at the time that verse was written.

Have you ever considered that maybe that was all part of God's plan, that if we had all the answers we would not need to TRUST Him? So what do you use as your guide to the truth? If you say the OT then do you still live by the law and sacrifice animals? If you say the NT then you cannot say that you believe John 3:16 was meant for you but not II Timothy. There has to be an absolute truth there is no middle road. We as humans have tried to create a middle of the road with our doctrines and disbelief. God would not just throw us out here and let us try to find the way on our own. Throughout the OT He tells us that he will make a way and he did, Jesus. Since the NT contains the history and works of Jesus, and provides us with the key to follow him, because following him is the only way to the Father(John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.) The NT is in fact just as vital as the OT they go hand in hand. Be careful what you read the deceiver that was in the garden is still trying to deceive God's children today. Therefore, God has given us his inspired word, The Bible, to help us live day by day. You question the authenticity of the men that put the Bible together, do you also question the authenticity of the pastor of your church? My guess would be No, you feel that he is called by God to preach the gospel. But you do not know for sure the motive of his heart, you have to trust God to keep you from slipping.
