I agree with your friend that Ginger is just trying to shift blame when he says he was getting back at you for sending him msgs. He doesn't want to admit that he just saw an easy way to get some money. That would be admitting that he was being selfish, manipulative, and a jerk. We can all be like that at times. but we sure don't want to admit to it. As far as repaying the money, I think it's very important for Ginger's sake that he repay you directly the full amount. If kids don't take responsibility for their actions in little things now, they won't take responsibility for bigger things later. Even if you were a multi-millionaire and spent more than that on chewing gum each day, Ginger still needs to pay you back. Working it off is an alternative, but that doesn't mean washing your car to delete like $50 of what he owes. It means a fair price for a fair job. You won't be doing him any favors in the long run if you let him off the hook too easily. Dakota |
