Should religion even come into play at all when teaching kids how to camp and such?

Were you ever in Boy Scouts? It doesn't sound like it with that statement. "Teaching kids how to camp and such" is a VERY oversimplistic view. Boy Scouts is about learning how to be a well rounded man. To me, faith is a VERY important aspect of being a well rounded man, and I would not allow my children into an org that teaches them otherwise (guess that rules out public schools).

The scouts is a private org, and has every right to set the limits of it's membership.
