Let me make it even clearer.

in my first statement, I clarified that I did not mean that masturbation is sinful in and of its self. I clarified that I was only reffering to the vast majority of cases, while realizing that there are always some exceptions to almost everything. The use of the expression 'sexual thoughts' here rather than sexual fantasies which would be the correct expression which I followed through the rest of this post is a result of writing it while reffering to your post which I was responding to. In your post you said:

first you are equating the act of masturbating with thoughts that may or may not accompany that act; they are two separate entities.

I was following that line of thought when I wrote my reply and used your own words. Throughout the rest of the post however, I use the expression 'sexual fantasies' which is obviously what I meant since thats what I go on to talk about for the rest of the post.

So, what does this leave us with? exactly what I said before. Sexual fantasies are a form of lust. To fantasize about having sex with someone is to lust after them. This is what typically goes on in masturbation, so therefore masturbation is sinful because it includes fantasizing which is lust.

Now, is there anything else youd like me to pretend I believe which I didn't say?
