I think you may need to read God's definition of Love in I Corinthians 13:1-13. It says nothing about sex being part of love. Sexual desire is a flesh issue, love is a heart issue. Paul is talking about love in a general sense, the love we are to have for our neighbors in fulfilment of Jesus' exhortation from Leviticus 19:18 to love our neighbors as ourselves, not the specific love between a couple - sex is very much a part of that love and a physical expression of that deep union between two people (see Genesis 2:24). Your categorization of sexual desire as a flesh issue comes across as a bad thing - God created our flesh bodies, sex and declared it all good... In Christ, J Come away, O human child, to the waters of the wild, with a fairy hand in hand, for the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand. |
