God and the vast universe

I understand that the number of the stars in the universe is equal to the number of grains of sands on earth’s beaches. The number is far greater than we could possibly imagine.

Since the universe is so huge it would be incredible if there weren’t other intelligent life out there. How could the universe be so huge without intelligent life popping up all over?

If God does exist, why did he build such a vast universe unless he dispersed life through out? I don’t recall the Bible allowing for life except on earth. Can one believe in God and also believe that life is probable through out the universe?
