Hi J, Ok, I might be many things to many people, but one thing I am not is a Sociologist, or expert in social science. But one thing that I AM is a concerned Christian, concerned human being, concerned BL. The key word here is "concerned". I try like crazy to make sense of crimes I cannot even fathom, and had no idea there were people out there who are actually sick enough to do this stuff. Believe me, I was not ready for the kind of stuff I got in response to the search I did a few days ago. There was even a story about a pedophile cannable....he was killing young boys and eating them for God's sake! And all the while, NAMBLA's name keeps popping up. So if I turn my guitar upside down and play a song full of sour notes for them, I think I should be able to feel at least a little justified. I love you too, brother, I did not think some in here would get so up in arms about my words. However, I am sure you know that I do not write them as any kind of personal afront. Let me write a little more in hopes of a good discussion on this topic....an inquiring mind wants to know.... Ok, here's the rub. It seems to me that regardless of what they are doing, or have done in the past, NAMBLA does not have a good reputation in the public eye. And it seems to me that even if they completely turned thier message around 100%, the public is never going to accept them. Either they won't believe those guys are honestly trying to turn things around, or they won't care one way or another because of thier hatred. I think we can probably both agree that NAMBLA is certainly NOT going to win any kind of popularity pole with the general public any time soon, right? It would be as bad as, say, the Nazi's coming out and telling everyone that they now love Jews, Blacks, and queers, and they are going to try to help them in every way possable, so..."Won't you please accept us now?" It is tragic. Maybe NAMBLA is trying to do some good, right some past wrongs....maybe they really are. But what counts is how they are percieved. And, I hate to say it, but it is tragic for us all. When I would go to the Sex Offender Treatment Program, when I tried to tell them about CBLF, they would retort,"Oh, you mean that Christian Boylove NAMBLA Thingie...". I hate to say it, but the word NAMBLA is permanently etched in the collective minds of society as a whole, and it is not pretty, not at all. And it certainly does not help when thier name keeps comming up in crimes against children. We DO belong to a supressed group of people, J. I am not equating rape with sex, I know better than that. But when a BL feels he can't do anything about his sexual wants, and has nowhere to go for help because society has not given him that option, he might find himself doing things that perhaps he has never even dreamed of trying. It happens, brother...it happened to me. I did not rape anyone, but then again, what is pornography if not rape with a camera? Let me know what you think, ok? God Bless You, Brother.
